TESTIMONIALS

"

As a young individual getting drafted to the NHL, I was unaware of what to expect or what steps I needed to take in order to get to the next level. Evan guided my process in understanding nutrition and lifestyle and was a mentor as I was working my way through college

I struggled with post game sleep for most of my 9 year career, not falling asleep before 5am. Ever since learning from Evan’s mindset of post game nutrition and lifestyle, I've been able to fall asleep from the first night I tried it by 1am.

"

The energy I had to power through the day was the biggest change. I went from constantly feeling tired and worn down to full of energy and ready to tackle each day. Evan has provided me with guidance that honestly changed my life, without his help, I do not believe I would be an Olympic hopeful for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

After many years of work with Evan, I not only became stronger, but I also began to think differently about hockey performance preparation. Evan has also helped me increase my desire for learning after many years of performance development. As apart of my personal development, not just as a hockey player, I also realized how important it is to develop a good balance with hockey and my family life. I consider him one of my best friends and a person to who I can always come for help !!

"

Evan helped me right away, not overwhelming me, just installed a couple small changes to my daily regimen that helped me get into a rhythm each day. Eating habits no longer became a chore instead it fit natural into my schedule and I found myself not always stressing about if I was eating enough. I found that I was sleeping better after games from implementing some of the changes to my post game routine.

After going through the program, I have been sleeping before midnight after every game and after 1 game I slept for 10 straight hours. Evan is interesting as he thinks differently than other coaches. He taught me about how to find what works for me and makes me feel at my best. I find myself with more energy, relaxed, calm, and have better recovery.

Athletes have a ton information given to them from a lot of different resources. I think we are able to excel and improve if the knowledge, comfort and communication come from someone who cares and listens. Evan’s ability to build this relationship with his athletes and collaborate to their individual needs and goals sets him apart. With his guidance, I stopped worrying and stressing about my diet and he taught me new ideas that improved my performance, sleep and overall mental approach. Evan believes in ‘Teaching, not Telling’ me what to do!

Working with Evan has been incredible. Before not working with Evan I felt like I didn't have energy on a day to day basis. With Evan's help and just a few minor tweaks helped me tremendously. I sleep better and wake up with much more energy. I couldn't believe that adding a couple things in my day to day life would be such a difference maker and I can't thank Evan enough for his help.

The things that separates a good pro from a bad one are very small details. With the help of Evan Levy and Rise of the Hockey Player, everyone is able to get access to help prepare, perform, and recover at the highest level possible.

It's not always common for someone to go out of their way to be helpful. Evan is a true professional who worked hard for me as a player gave me knowledge that continued to help me grow.

His wisdom was just something I looked up to every single time we met and talked.  I loved his passion for life and for his environment. How he came to Hungary and started not only learning our language but getting to know the culture, the habits of Hungarians, and he became a true citizen in our crowded city. He is very open minded and is always available for both helping with his knowledge and learning new things. I am truly grateful to him and to the opportunity I had and still have to have him in my life as not only a mentor but as a friend.

"

I am very grateful that I had the chance last summer to do the preparation program. In the practices he always told me why I am doing this, what is the function and the effect of one and other movement.  We also talked about  “good” foods and ones that are better to avoid for example in the evening. With new ideas, I don't feel full after dinner and find that I sleep better after a hard practice. I was able to start doing things what I never could have imagined. I am really thankful to him as a coach, mentor, and friend.

I remember the first time Evan and I had a conversation, he was very easy to talk to and was very respectful about the Hungarian culture. He even put effort into learning the Hungarian language which is uncommon. He has great ideas about performance education, but I find it fascinating his attention to mental performance. As a player, I like how he is a problem solver and looking for solutions to improvement and is always a positive person.

I was sleep walking 2 to 3 times a night on a regular basis. Through his knowledge on what could be causing it and the use of proper nutrition and other ideas I limited my sleep walking to only getting up once or twice a week right right of the bat. Now I feel like I have more energy to do my job, because I've been sleeping better.
